API 5L Seamless Pipe is a seamless pipe produced in the steel line pipes that are welded and seamless. The American Petroleum Institute specification includes different grades of raw material made pipes that are intended for fluid transfer in high temperatures.

These pipes are used to make up longer lines of fluid supplies at high temperature. There are different product specification levels (PSLs) to maintain different mechanical properties. There are also different making procedures. The 5L Erw Pipes is made up by the electric resistance welding where the pipes are welded on a longitudinal axis and are stronger. The two different specification levels apply for different applications. The 5L PSL1 and the 5L PSL2 are different in different grades of the same API 5L material. There are different grades such as Grade B, X42 through X80 and L245 through L485. These different grades apply for different mechanical properties and industrial applications. There are also 5L Welded Pipes variations in all grades which are good for applications with excessive welding requirements.
